You will be collected by our drivers from Dakar airport on arrival (please enter your flight details in section provided on website) and taken to our hotel. We are all staying at the Terrou Bi Hotel, a short drive from downtown Dakar, its own little haven on the beach. Mona Ndaiye, who is in charge of all logistics, will be onsite to take care of your needs.

Our day will start at 0900; let’s meet in the Terrou Bi lobby. We will be visiting an historic island, taking a short ferry ride (everything is booked, including your tickets). Bring comfortable shoes and be prepared for morning sun as you take the tour.

On our return from the island, we will go directly from the ferry terminal to lunch at Lagon 1 restaurant for 1300. Located downtown, Lagon 1 will be a relaxed lunch on the pier. For those who fancy a swim in the ocean before/after lunch, Lagon has a private launch and beach. You can stay all afternoon if you wish.

After lunch, we will return to Terrou Bi for a rest and time by the hotel pool and beach. For those who want to visit a local crafts market, we will make a stop on the way back from lunch, where 50+ artisans sell their local wares. Cash (CFA francs) only for purchases.

We will leave the Terrou Bi at 1830 for dinner, let’s meet in the hotel lobby. Dinner, attire smart casual, is at one of our favourite restaurants in town, set in a colonial house overlooking the ocean. If we leave on time we’ll see the sunset. You’ll meet some of our friends from Dakar who will be joining us.

Let’s aim to leave the Terrou Bi at 10:30; meet in the lobby beforehand.
Lunch will be at our “special place” on the beach in Popenguine, en route to Yokan Lodge. Casual attire, it’s on the beach. We’ll swim, play football and eat fresh caught fish of the day. We’ll aim to leave Popenguine at 1500, arriving at 1700 at Yokan Lodge. It’s a 2 hour drive along the coastal highway, through local villages, into the mangrove reserves where the lodges are.

On arrival at Yokan Lodge, everyone will receive their room keys. Yokan and Patrick’s Lodges are neighbouring lodges on a private estate with their own miles long beach, pools, spa etc. The place is ours to enjoy for the weekend. Everything is taken care of.
Get settled in the early evening, ready for drinks and a local BBQ. 1900 cocktails and dinner at Yokan Lodge beach. It will be relaxed; on the beach, fire pits, the sunset and a local band.
On arrival at Yokan Lodge, everyone will receive their room keys. Yokan and Patrick’s Lodges are neighbouring lodges on a private estate with their own miles long beach, pools, spa etc. The place is ours to enjoy for the weekend. Everything is taken care of.

Breakfast is served on the terrace at Yokan Lodge from 0800-1000 for everyone. For the sake of ease, we’ll also be serving breakfast (same time) for the children at Patrick’s Lodge, which has its own terrace. Diama wants to treat the children to her special breakfast!

Bring swim wear, comfortable sports shoes, sunscreen and a hat. Lunch will be served local Senegalese style on the excursion.
We’ll be back at Yokan/Patrick’s by 1400. Time to rest, be on the beach, by the pool or at the spa.

Attire… wedding on the beach. Men: Jacket, no tie (please). Ladies: Beach elegance. Shoes are optional, it’s rustic.
The ceremony will be held on the Patrick’s Lodge beach, down the path from the pool areas of both Lodges. The sun will be setting. Seating for all. We will be under the evening sun, Atlantic waves and a cool evening breeze. Come prepared.
1900. Following our ceremony, cocktails will be served under the palm tree gardens of Patrick’s Lodge, a short walk from the ceremony on the beach.
Attire… wedding on the beach. Men: Jacket, no tie (please). Ladies: Beach elegance. Shoes are optional, it’s rustic.

Wake up late, go for a walk on the beach and swim in the ocean. For the brave, breakfast buffet will be served at Yokan Lodge from 0900-1100.
At 1100 a Senegalese brunch will be served for all on the Yokan Lodge terrace. Casual attire.
Depending on your plans, if you’re flying out in the evening, staying longer at Yokan or in Dakar, transportation is arranged (please complete your flight details and plans on our website).
